Greetings from Japan

After long flight from New York to Tokyo, Alex met us at the and we made the adventure of 3 train rides and two hours later we arrived at Alex and Kathryn's apartment where they had prepared a meal for us.  Since our body clock was still on east coast time we were having an interesting time talking and sharing since we were all very tired.  The difference in time is about14 hours so at the time of this writing it is five minutes until 9 on Thursday evening while it is 5 minutes until 7 Thursday morning back home.   You would be so proud of these two wonderful Missionaries.  As many of you know Kathryn grew up at Cornerstone and Alex has become part of the family through marriage. It was two years ago now that we sent them with our prayers to the nation of Japan to fulfill the call of God on their lives.  They have attended language school and have become very accomplished at speaking Japanese.  It is neat to see them interacting with people here without any hesitation.  They currently serve in additions to their studies as assistant pastor's at Tokyo City Church, which is led by a wonderful man of God named Pastor Kazuo.  He loves the Lord and has a vision to be part of the answer to the need of this Buddhist nation of some 120 million people where less than 1 % of the people have a relation with Jesus as their savior.  The need it great but our God is greater. It will take a miracle of God, but God still performs miracles doesn't He?  God is opening new doors for these two wonderful servants of God. They send their greetings to Cornerstone and all those who have been a partner with them as they are being used by God to love the Japanese people. Their future is bright and you would all be so proud of how God has completely opened doors for them because of their servant's heart and their willingness to say yes to Lord and His grace to fulfill their life purpose. All of us really are like these two neat people. God calls us to himself and then HE calls us to be with Him in the work of the Kingdom of God. You and I are given a choice and our answer needs to be a heartfelt yes.  You and I may never know how the Lord has so affected so many lives of those around us as we are faithful to live in the grace that God has bestowed on us.

It is important to remember that the people we pray for on the walls of our church most every Saturday night are more than just pictures they are partners.  Dee and I are so glad we came to see Alex and Kathryn and to see how well they are doing. Please keep praying for them and believing for God to use them in greater ways than any of us can imagine.  Thanks for praying for us as well we will be heading to Thailand on Saturday morning and will be joining the rest of our team there on Saturday evening. Please pray for safe flights and for God great ability to help us all recover so that we will be able to bless many people this coming week.  Check back when you can and we will try to keep you informed and what is happening on this trip to asia.
